The PCPC was founded in 1894 as the Manufacturing Perfumers' Association , renamed the American Manufacturers of Toilet Articles ( AMTA ) in 1922, and renamed again as the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association ( CTFA ) in 1970.
