Janatas ( Kazakh : Жаңатас , Zhaŋatas , Russian : Жанатас ) is a town in Sarysu District of Jambyl Region of southern Kazakhstan . The name means "New stone" in Kazakh, referring to the newly found phosphorite deposits. Janatas serves as the administrative center of the district.
