On 2 October 2001, 28-year-old Soh San ( Chinese : 苏姗 ; pinyin : Sū Shān ), who was a manager of a telecommunications company, was found dead with her body stuck between the lift doors of her flat in Bukit Batok . She had sustained several knife wounds to her chest and abdomen. Soh's death remained unsolved for the next 12 years until a 28-year-old man surrendered himself and confessed to having stabbed Soh nine times during a robbery.
